The Committee
The British Stock Car Drivers Association was founded on February 12th 1955. Its main aim was to encourage Stock Car Racing and look after the interests of the drivers, a principle which is still true over 50 years on. Since its inception over 100 people have served their fellow drivers by being members of the Committee.
The current Committee members are listed below (along with soon to be added picture and profile), with meetings between the members taking place once a month throughout the year, where current issues and ideas are discussed, proposals are put together, etc. At the end of the season the AGM is held where new and current Committee members cam be elected onto the team and where the major issues from the previous season are discussed and proposals for the following season are sorted and implemented.

What year did you Start F1 StockCar Racing ?
I first raced a Mechanics race at Bradfield in 1984, but sat behind the wheel of my own car at a very muddy Long Eaton in April 1988.

Background of Racing Career. First started mechanicing for Stuart Smith (Snr) (391/1) when i was a very young and naive. When he retired i could be seen mechanicing for Peter Falding (33) until buying my own car in 1987 (from Richard Baldwin).  So since 1988 i have been racing on and off when time and funds have allowed.  I am currently preparing my car whilst my transporter id being repaired by Paint Tec.  I can also be seen assisting Stuart Smith Jnr (390) in my spare time.

Most Memorable Race Winning my one and only race in a White and Yellow race on 18th March 1992 at Scunthorpe, not that i can remember it !!

Favourite Driver in years gone by & Driver you enjoy racing with ? Frankie (515) is always the man to keep your eyes on, but Big John (53) is a legend. Peter Falding (33) on his day is a main man too.  I also enjoyed being in a race with Andy Hodgson (272) as he would always give me an interesting wave on his way past.

Wishes for the future of F1 Stock Car Racing I would love F1 Stock Car Racing to receive the media coverage it deserves.  And to achieve this promoters and drivers need to work together for the same goal.  We have the best form of Motorsport out there we just need to portray ourselves to a bigger audience.  F1 stock car people, Drivers, mechanics, Supporters are the sport and long may it continue.

What year did you Start F1 StockCar Racing ? 2002. Been racing about 5 years. Enjoyed every minute of it up to now.

Background of Racing Career Dad (Derek Hines) owned a F1 race team at the time which allowed me to start in V8 Hotstox first. Raced in that formula for 3 years which was a great grounding for my time in F1. Moved to F1 stock cars in 2002.

Most Memorable Race European Championship race at Northampton in 2005. Managed to win my first title. Also Venray Gold Cup 2004. Finished 3rd from a long way back on the grid

Favourite Driver in years gone by & Driver you enjoy racing with ? You have to admire Frankie Wainman JNR (515). He is an excellent driver and has done so much for the sport. Also enjoyed helping Gary Castell (247), Gaz Bott (41) and Rob Pearce (175). I enjoy racing against everyone. Every driver is different and always good fun to race against as many drivers as possible.

Wishes for the future of F1 Stock Car Racing The continuation of the sports successes. Its important to act now to ensure the sports survival in the forms we know it as today. Efforts must be made to help maintain and keep the drivers and tracks running for years to come.

The BSCDA Trust Fund
In 1976 the Drivers Benevolent Fund was formed to help those having to take time away from work with racing injuries. This was registered as a Charity in 1984 and became known as the BSCDA Trust Fund, whose Honorary Treasurer is Craig Haworth. Over the years many drivers have benefited from the Trust Fund and without the donations we receive the fund would not be what it is, so if you would like to donate to the BSCDA Trust Fund then please contact the Secretary. To go with the Trust Fund is the BSCDA Trust Fund race which is held annually and is primarily open to Superstar and Red grade drivers. Following the race the drivers take part in a collection amongst the crowd for the Trust Fund.
